Create an account for external communication
Note: To sign up for a Skype account you must have a phone number to associate with it. This is the case no matter how you create an account - it is a security feature in Microsoft.
Steps to create a new Skype account for external communication:
2. Create an account using phone number or "Use your email instead." If you use a phone number, go to step ___
3. If you click "Use your email instead," and get the following message when typing in your work email address:
Then please click "get a new Outlook email." Use the format "firstname.lastname.company@outlook.com" to create a new address.
4. Create a password for the account and uncheck "Send me promotional emails from Microsoft."
5. Put your First name and Last name in so people can find you
6. Choose your Country/region and Birthdate for legal purposes for Microsoft/Skype.
7. Go through the captcha so that Microsoft knows it is a real person creating the account.
8. Put a phone number in where Microsoft can contact you for security purposes.
