Using app passwords for email applications
*Follow these steps once for each of your applications that you have set up after enrolling in MFA
Outlook (Desktop version)
1. Open Outlook, such as Outlook 2010, 2013, or 2016.
2. If you've already added your account to Outlook, when prompted paste your app password from here in the Password box:
3. Click Remember my credentials (it prevents you from having to do this again), and click OK.
Note: If you're adding your Office 365 account to Outlook for the first time, enter your normal password in both password boxes in the photo below, then your app password later on in a pop up that looks similar to the one above.
4. Restart Outlook.
iPhone Mail
1. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts and tap the account.
2. Look for the option Re-enter Password. Type in the app password carefully and save.
**If this doesn't pop up for you, then you will need to delete and re-add your account. To delete:
1. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts and tap the account
2. Press Delete Account.
3. Press Delete from My iPhone to continue deleting your email account.
4. Open Mail again to add your new mail account.
Android Mail
1. Open the mail app on your phone.
2. Tap Menu, and then tap Settings.
3. Tap your Microsoft account.
4. Tap Incoming settings (under Server settings).
5. Replace the password on your phone with the app password.
6. Tap Done.
