Receiving a New Computer Setup
Please follow the guide for setting up your new laptop.
- Plug in and turn on the laptop.
- On the Language selection screen, click ‘Yes.’
- Choose United States (or your current country) and click ‘Yes.’
- Select the default keyboard layout (US) and click ‘Yes.’
- If needed, add an additional keyboard by clicking ‘Add layout’—only do this if you're familiar with switching language settings in Windows, otherwise click ‘Skip.’
- Connect to your preferred WI-FI network and click ‘Next’
- Windows will install updates; ensure the laptop stays plugged in and powered on during this process.
- Once the updates are complete click ‘accept’ for the windows license agreement
- Click ‘Skip for now’ when asked to name your device.
- Select ‘Set up for work or school’ and click ‘Next.’
- Sign in using the login credentials provided in your welcome letter.
- Then click ‘Next’ twice on the ‘Choose Privacy’ settings page until it advances the text and then click ‘Accept’
- Skip the ‘Preferences’ section by leaving the fields blank and click ‘Next.’
- Click ‘Next’ on the Dell Policy page
- Wait for the next round of updates to complete and set up ‘Windows Hello.’
- Once you are logged in, you can then login into Outlook, Teams etc. using your login credentials and complete setup of the Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication.
